SOUNDED LIKE?!!: 35 Years and Still Black or Why It’s Always About Race In America, If You a NIGGA
If you read me than you know I’ve never failed to seriously say exactly what I believe especially when it comes to matters of Race. And there are moments, far and few in between that remind me exactly why this is my passion….
This elder brother sits in the cross hairs of one of them.
I’m at work and someone who reads my facebook page where I do occasionally discuss racism, but who does not work with me, walks up and blurts out,”Why is it always about race!”(see if you in denial, any occasional discussion is always.)
After my expletive laced reply about this being the wrong place for the discussion….I knew a post was coming.

You see racism, contrary to popular belief, sends me into deep contemplation. Indeed, I’ve always asked that question: why is it always about Race? No truly. Why?
Because of James Bain. (And as an aside, how do you jes know there’s an absolute Cracka somewhere who absolutely hates the invention of modern DNA testing.) How many white folks is freed after 35 years. Scott Free? (as in Dred Scott?)
As if you couldn’t get any more angry that the best evidence that they had on him back in 74 was a description of a dark black man with bushy side burns…(In 74 that was every body from Issac Hayes to Richard Roundtree to my blood father. From Black Moses to Shaft to Bulldog, they’s all niggas…) As if you couldn’t get any more angry that the Nigga…Let’s call it how they saw it. Let truth ring for once. As if you couldn’t get any more angry that the Nigga got convicted by the say so of the Assist. Principal who said the description SOUNDED LIKE the Nigga they locked up. AND I MOTHERFIN’ QUOTE…
He was convicted largely on the strength of the victim’s eyewitness identification, though testing available at the time did not definitively link him to the crime. The boy said his attacker had bushy sideburns and a mustache. The boy’s uncle, a former assistant principal at a high school, said it sounded like Bain, a former student.

And they gave the NIGGA 35 YEARS.
And what’s more it wasn’t 35, it was LIFE. He only did 35.
You don’t even have to look at The Innocence Project Web site to know what you’ll find, if you know about false imprisonment and the history of NIGGAS in American.
Again. Let truth ring and let us call it as they see it. Offended by the word Nigga? As an aside that’s half the problem. Yall more offended by the word than this ass whippin’ they’s handin’ out daily. Lord is ya’ll confused. So don’t ask me why’s it always about Race, ask James Bain and others like him….
But to a man, ya know what they’ll say. Nothing. Why? Cause they know it’s about race and when you done did 35 years in the damn hole for some shit you ain’t done, found yo self fightin’ cats off yo’ back door, forced to make decisions for your daily bread, barely sleepin’, knowin’ that white folks is at the top of the power chain, in control and openly Racist, then you are painfully aware that it’s always about race and you scared to say the wrong thing because you know there’s some Cracka out there who would lie on you and put you back in hell, if you made him mad.
Oh no? They did it the first time didn’t they? Every traffic stop. Every chance encounter with a white cop. The head will bow. Eyes will focus upon the floor. Belie me.
But the Lord God is all we do need. Perhaps he is right. We can not need our great white brethren; for they have failed us time and so many times again. In any one of our Nigga lived lives, that list of failures is long.
God is the only thing.
Anger, indignation? That is left to those who are Niggas and who did not live that particular race inspired horror; for the story about a NIGGA freed from prison after 35 years spent on some bullshit had only a 24 news cycle in mainstream White America. After my initial anger at failing to find it on mainstream news websites, I caught myself. I know better than this. Why should it have lasted any longer? It ain’t them. Hell its removal proves the whole damn point.
Why is it always about Race? I don’t know. Why don’t you go and ask them. Who?
Just about any one of them. White folks who enjoy privilege in this society and or the Niggas who suffer it. And that would probably include looking in the mirror, if you read this space.
But you would be wasting your time cause God is all you need.
